Zelda Party!
I can't believe I have a 6 year old!! Boston has grown up so much this year, it's crazy! He is LOVING school and is such a help around the house. I seriously couldn't do it without him. He has been asking for a Zelda party for months now and I have to say… of all the boy parties I have done I was most excited for this one!!! If you know me and Boss you know what HUGE Zelda fans we are. We could play Nintendo games all. day. long. So I got pretty into this one!
I went with a Karok Forest feel, that is where Link finds the infamous Master Sword and it is a pretty epic spot in the game. (Am I geeking it out too much!? hahah)
I did SO much cutting out and crafting paper for this party. There are so many little touches that only true Zelda fans would appreciate haha and I won't bore you with all the little details, but I put a lot of work into this one and I am so happy with how it turned out. Boston's name was crafted after the Hylian language in the game.
My favourite parts were my Deku Tree...
… and my Navi fairy. "Hey! Listen!" is such an iconic Zelda line
I also borrowed my brother's REAL Master Sword and crafted a stone for it and placed it front and centre. It really just made the whole party for Boston haha
The table spread! I put a lot of thought into all the food too, Every item is very much on theme!
Rupee Cookies
Triforce Brownies
ChuChu Jelly
Goron Pizza
Endura Carrots and Hearty Salmon
And Boston's one request was a Hylian Shield cake! It was a huge hit!
This greeted all the guests at the front door!
I sewed a Link hat for each guest and I LOVE them!!! Most the boys din't know who Link was but it's close to Christmas so I just told them he was the best elf ever and they were all pretty excited :)
They each got a little "Master Sword" of their own too.
My two little Link's! (look at Banner's pose hahaha)
After we ate lunch we decorated Hylian Shields! I made each guest a shield out of form board, duct tape and foam decorations. I should have taken a better picture of them but they were SO cute and took me SO long to make haha.
We are missing a couple boys who were determined to finish colouring :) But they all turned out pretty dang cute!!! Notice how Boston and Banner's are the exact colours :) So proud… haha.
After shield decorating we had a Triforce - Treasure Hunt!
At the end of their hunt they found Chests!! I found these little chests at the dollar store and painted them to be more Zelda-y :)
Just a little black paint and a Hylian crest and voila!! They were so excited until they opened them and realized they were EMPTY! haha That was a mean little trick I guess…
But I told them in order to fill their chests we had to defeat an enemy! So we ran downstairs to the SKulltula piƱata! My brother gave Boston a huge wooden Master Sword so we used that to take him down!
Success! They all were very serious warriors and it was so funny to watch them all. They all filled their chests with candy so we had some happy Link's.
Then we opened presents and had cake and it was done! It was such a good party and Boss still hasn't stopped talking about his epic birthday! These parties are a lot of work but I LOVE all the crafting and I especially love seeing my kids so excited on their party day. It is my favourite hobby ever!
I love Boston so much and am so proud of the boy he is growing into. He is so fun, smart and friendly and teaches me how to better daily. Can't wait to see what he does in another year! Happy Birthday Boss Man!
