Pokémon Party!
My Banner boy turned 5!!!! I have been greatly anticipating this party because I feel like the last couple years I haven't been able to put as much effort into Banner's parties as I have wanted (moving, babies, etc). So I was ready to put everything I had into this one!! Banner is the sweetest boy on this whole planet and he deserves all the things!
He of COURSE chose a Pokemon theme this year! Pokemon has taken over all our lives haha. He is obsessed with not only the card game but the tv show and anything else Pokemon related!
He loved seeing his name in the Pokemon font. I love how everything came together at this party!
We had lots of yummy Pokemon treats!
He was very specific about what he wanted his cake to look like and he was obsessed with it! So even though I tried some different eyes and ended up ditching them all together (LOL) I would still call this one a success!
I think these have been my most successful sugar cookies as well! I am so happy with how they turned out and they were DELICIOUS too!
Treat bags and fruit/veggie platter!
Jello and "Pikachu Poop" brownies!
I had made each party guest an Ash Ketchum hat, they all LOVED them!
As soon as all the kids arrived we made Poke Pizzas! While the Pizzas were in the oven we decorated poke balls. Everyone took this very seriously and it was the cutest thing ever!
After we ate we started our "Pokemon Trainer Camp!" Each game got them closer to being a REAL pokemon trainer!
One of their favourite things was the "Poke Punch" game. After they each successfully completed a station/game they could come to this and punch one cup to get a new Pokemon! I got a bunch of little Pokemon figurines on Amazon. It was so fun!
Boston and Banner getting their first Pokemon!
The second activity was "Complete Your Pokedex!" I had hidden Pokemon all around the house and they took their list and marked off each one as they found them! Once their Pokedex was complete they got to go to Poke Punch again! It was HILARIOUS watching their excitement every time they found one. I HIGHLY recommend this game. I was surprised how much fun it was.
Next was their first "Pokemon Battle." We hung a poster on the fence and they threw water balloons at the Pokemon they wanted to "catch." I think Pikachu got all the water balloons haha.
Bailey Bird even got into this one!
Last was the much anticipated Piñata! I wanted to make it a Team Rocket one so they could defeat the bad guys, but I ran out of time and so an easy pokeball it was!
After all the games were complete they were real Pokemon Trainers!! SO they each got their hat and Pokemon belt! Banner's fav colour is green so I made him a special one, but everyone else got regular red ones!
The belts are velcro and the balls are Christmas ornaments I painted and actually open! They put all their Pokemon figurines in them! I thought these turned out SO CUTE! They love ripping off the Pokeballs and having "real" battles haha.
All our little trainers!! Don't they all look so cute with all their Pokemon get up!?
Treat bags!! All smiling faces after they were full with piñata candy!
Banner had such a good time and was so spoiled with gifts! He has the cutest little friends here!
He got a Pokemon watch from grandma and is seriously so obsessed…. he hasn't taken it off since! He is just the cutest little boy!!
Banner is the most quiet, sweet and lovable boy! He is so kind, grateful and SO funny. I feel like we named him well because of all my kids he can throw the best "HULK" fits, but I am happy to say they are very, very rare haha. He is super shy still but has the best personality when you get to know him and the cutest smile. I mean look at that face!! He is SO excited to start Kindergarten in the fall and has been working hard at writing his name and learning all his letters. He is getting so old and I am NOT OK!!!!!
